Steady Jain sidelines Babani, to meet Tohgaonkar in semis

Matunga Gymkhana’s Rushabh Jain (+25 handicap) faced little challenge from Otters Club contender Yash Babani (+35 handicap) by strolling to a 3-1 win in a quarter-final match of the BSAM Snooker Grassroot Challenger (Leg-2) 2023-2024, at the Garware Club House billiards room on Thursday afternoon.
Babani who has enjoyed a good run so far, was unable to sustain the momentum and failed to get going against Jain who just stuck to basics by grabbing every opportunity to run up small, but useful breaks to script a 96-36, 27-97, 94-66 and 113-35 victory and will now clash with Thane’s Krishna Tohgaonkar on Friday for a place in the final.
