Charged-up Vernekar fires 2 substantial breaks

MIG Cricket Club’s Samarth Vernekar brushed aside a strong fight from Rahul Narang of Park Club by grabbing a tight 3-2 win in a Leg-2 qualifying match of the BSAM Snooker Grassroot Challenger 2023 at the Garware Club House billiards room on Saturday. Vernekar was all charged up and fired two substantial breaks of 42 (2nd frame) and 47 (4th frame) during his victory.
The match was closely contested as Narang also compiled a break of 31 (3rd frame). Vernekar who exhibited excellent touch and fine control with the pots managed to pull through by winning the last two frames to clinch a well-deserved 44-70, 63(42)-35, 40-83(31), 64(47)-7 and 65-24 victory.
