Ajit Kobnak a professional billiards marker with P.J. Hindu Gymkhana played well to carve out a tense 3-2 win against Kalyan cueist Mayur Sarda in first round action of the BSAM Snooker Grassroot Challenger 2023-2024 at the Islam Gymkhana on Monday.
Kobnak quickly got off the blocks and soon pocketed the first frame and then clinched a tight second to race to 2-0 lead. The Kalyan challenger bounced back to contention by winning the next two to level the frame scores. The Hindu Gymkhana player once again came good to win the fifth frame to secure a satisfying 50-2, 49-46, 18-51, 35-44 and 45-11 win.
