Islam Gymkhana’s Alam Shaikh continued with his impressive run of winning form and sent Garware Club House player Chirag Mehta crashing to a quick straight frame 3-0 defeat in a best-of-5-frame quarter-final match of the BSAM Snooker Grassroot Challenger 2023 at the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana billiards hall on Monday afternoon.
Shaikh who has been enjoying a smooth run of the balls just stuck to the basics and grabbed every opportunity to accumulate the points to take the match away from the Garware Club contender, who was certainly not at his best and caved in rather meekly.
The left-handed Shaikh eased to a 66-15, 51-26 and 58-11 victory with a degree of comfort and confirmed his passage to the semi-finals.
