Shandilya fires top 92 break, but makes an exit

P.J. Hindu Gymkhana’s Aditya Shandilya (+35 handicap) started in whirlwind fashion by stitching together a massive break of 92, the best in the competition so far. However, he was unable to sustain the momentum and crashed to a 1-3 defeat against NSCI’s Karan Chug (+35) in a second round match of the BSAM Snooker Grassroot Challenger (Leg-2) 2023, at the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana on Wednesday.
Shandilya, who trains with renowned coach Sanjay Sawant, looked in total control as he constructed the solid break in the first frame. But, that effort did not count for much as a determined Chugh won three frames in succession and signed off with a 36 break to secure a 40-127(92), 112-72, 104-80 and 99(36)-36 win.
