Tamil Nadu cueist bags sub-junior snooker title

Pune: Defending champion and top seed S Srikrishna of Tamil Nadu justified his seeding by bagging a double crown in the Manisha National Billiards and Snooker Championship at PYC Hindu Gymkhana on Monday.

Srikrishna had already won sub-junior billiards title and then came up with equally brilliant game to win sub-junior snooker title. In the final, he defeated Haryana’s Digvijay Kadian 63-23, 55-30, 82-41.

In the second frame, Digvijay put his best efforts to equalise the scores but he couldn’t do much against Srikrishna’s accurate potting and cleaver tactics.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Srikrishna registered one-sided win over Chandigarh’s Ravneer Duggal. The 11-year-old had created sensation by beating higher ranked Sparsh Pherwani of Maharashtra in the quarterfinals. But, he was totally dominated by Srikrishna, who closed down the encounter with a 65-18, 68-12 win.
