Manav Panchal of Malabar Hill Club registered hard-fought wins to enter the second phase from Group H, in the Otters Club All India 9-Ball Pool Tournament, on Friday.
Panchal kicked off the day when he beat Luv Boricha of Dadar Club 7-5 in a close opener before easing past Pawan Kohli of Khar Gymkhana 7-3. Trailing 1-3, Panchal rallied to an exciting 7-5 win over Otters Club marker Samuel Selvan to seal his place in the next round. Samuel frittered away another opportunity to enter the second phase, when he was halted in the double elimination by Abhay Saini of Delhi who earlier won three back-to-back ties.
Also advancing in the competition were, Harmehr Mago of Khar Gymkhana and Pune’s Anant Raghuvanshi from Group G.
