Fisher cruises into final

Former women’s world No. 1 Kelly Fisher of England fashioned a comfortable semi-final win to sail into the championship round, in the Otters Club All India 9-Ball Pool Tournament, on Sunday.

Fisher will take on former national champion Alok Kumar of PSPB in the race-to-15 final, after halting Monu Chaudhary of Delhi 13-5 in the semi-finals. Kumar beat Faisal Khan of Railways 13-12 in the first semi-final on Saturday.

A confident Fisher dominated the match and raced to a substantial 8-4 advantage that had Chaudhary struggling under pressure for most part of the contest.
“I had to play well from the start,” explained Fisher. “I knew, if I let him come back especially in the beginning it could have been a closer contest. I capitalized on the chances that came my way. I am pleased with the way I’m playing. All I want is the final to be a good match that will entertain and make it exciting for the spectators.”
