Match Format & Rules
Format :
1) Knock-out from day 1
2) Upto Pre-Pre-Quarters - Best of 5 frames
3) Pre-quarters, Quarters and Semis - Best of 7 frames
4) Finals - Best of 9 frames
Rules :
1) Unless otherwise notified, the tournament shall run in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations of the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
2) The Tournament Committee shall be the sole authority for the arrangement of all the matches.
3) The handicap of each individual player shall be decided by the Tournament Committee which reserves the right to change the handicap of any player at any stage of the tournament.
4) Once entries have been accepted, no replacement/substitution of players will be entertained. However, the Tournament Committee at its discretion, reserves the right to accept such changes if necessary and with valid reasons, so long as no match has been played by the player/s.
5) All players must report atleast 15 minutes before the scheduled time of their matches.
6) All the matches will be played in accordance with the announced match schedule
7) Postponement of any match will be at the Tournament Committee’s discretion.
8) A grace period of 10 minutes will be allocated for each fixture. In the event of being late or no show by a player by the end of the 10th minute one frame will be awarded to the opponent, after 20 minutes 2 frames down, after 30 minutes a walk-over will be awarded in favour of the opponent.
9) All the participants are requested to kindly pay the entry fees before their scheduled first match.
10) In the event of both players failing to turn up, the tie will be scratched.
11) Dress Code - Dress Code shall be maintained throughout the tournament and no sandals, chappals, short pants, ¾ pants, round-neck T-shirts, torn jeans & low waist jeans will allowed. Normal casual wear with formal or sports shoes will be the dress code for all the matches. No excuses will be heard with regards to the dress code, except for medical reasons.
12) In the absence of referee, all the decisions taken by the marker will be final and binding. In the event of dispute, players should immediately stop play and approach the presiding Tournament Committee Member for assistance. The decision of the committee member shall be deemed as final.
13) The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make changes to these rules and regulations and their decisions on all matters pertaining to this event shall be final.
14) For players having handicaps between +24 to +42 minimum break of 21 is required for Highest Break Prize Money, similarly min. break of 45 for +15 to +23 and min. break of 60 for scr to +14
15) Snooker behind nominated ball is not allowed.
16) Foul-and-a-miss rule: Only One (1) foul-and-a-miss i.e. One (1) re-spot and after that
(a) play from where the cue-ball has come to rest
(b) ask opponent to play
17) Finally all are requested to play in the spirit of the game
