THAI GIRLS START OF WITH A BANG


Waratthanun Sukritthanes and Sripaporn Nuanthakamjan were of to a fluent start in the 1st Asian Ladies Snooker Championship 2017. Waratthanun made a beak of 73 in the 2nd frame and Sripaporn made a break of 51 in the 2nd frame blanking their opponents 2-0 portin a best of 3 frames. Vidya Pillai and Aranxta Sanchis of India easily got the better of their opponents in similar style beating Yuet Wa Yuen (Hkg) and Hymen Choi (S.Korea). Fan Zhengyi (China) fired breaks of 81,82,74 in the 1st 3rd and 5th frame to win his match 4-1 with great authority and advance to the quarter finals of the Asian under 21 snooker championship. Asutosh Padhy of India also made it to the quarter finals beating Ka Wai Cheung of Hongkong 4-2. 16 yrs old Mohammed Naseem Akhtar (Pak) also progressed to the quarter finals winning his match 4-2 against Ming Wa Man (HKG). The official opening ceremony of the 1st Ladies Asian Snooker Championship was held at 5.pm. The Chief guest of the function was Mr.Aathar SHAHAB CEO of Nabha Power Ltd.

Promising Lady cueist of India Amee Kamani finished her match in 45 minutes beating another Indian cueist a Meenal Thakur 2-0. Amee now plays Sripaporn Nuanthakamjan one of strong contenders for the crown. Floriza Andal of the Philippines also did well to win both her matches in her group beating Keerat Bhandaal (Ind) 2-1 and then went on to beat Yuet Wan Yuen (Hkg) 2-0.

Ishpreet Singh was playing his quarter final match which was in progress against Haris Tahir (Pk). All eyes were on the Indo-Pak match as Haris is a very good player and the match promises to be interesting. We hope that'
