Madaan, Swaminathan march into 3rd round Nitesh Madaan

Mumbai, January 9: Nitesh Madaan and Vinay Swaminathan, both recorded comfortable victories to advance into the qualifying draw third round of the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) organized ‘NSCI Baulkline 3.0’ All India Snooker Open 2024.

Madan, who had rolled in breaks of 64 and 62 in defeating Vaibhav Pawar 4-1 in the earlier round yesterday, maintained the winning momentum and eased past Rahul Narang pasting a 4-2 (49-69, 36-67, 45-98, 72-27, 58-16, and 62-27) win in a second round match, at the NSCI billiards hall on Tuesday.

Earlier, Swaminathan was in good nick and constructed a half century break of 56 in the third frame and went on to defeat Suyog Mukadam 4-0 (68-26, 56-35, 84-6, and 77-0) in another second match.

Cherag Ramakrishnan and Anant Mehta also progressed to the third round. Ramakrishan showed his class as registered an authoritative straight frame win against Mehul Sutaria coasting to a 4-0 (63-22, 71-13, 65-3, and 60-48) victory.

Mehta also enjoyed an easy outing and sidelined Ashish Gore by clinching a deserving 4-1 (54-50, 75-15, 55-30, 36-53, and 56-11) win.
